I view myself as a “player/coach” and think that the best leadership comes from specific coaching for people and leading by example. I have built teams with a range of levels, skillsets, and roles and find that understand the person, their skills, and their style is key to being able to coach/ teach. I mentor from a place of both experience as an IC as well as years of developing teams.

Making the team a collaborative, customer centric team that used data, insights, and prioritization to drive product development.
While my style can change based on the needs of the team and the organization there are some basic premises that I believe to always be true in my style.
Create A Great Workplace
A successful team is one that is set up for success. It is important to be both at optimal capacity and focused on great organizational relationships.
Foster A Safe Design Space
The best ideas come from all over the organization and sometimes from experimenting with “crazy” ideas. Designers need to have a space to try things out and share with the team in a learning environment.
Drive Design With Data
I coach the team to understand users and keep them in mind throughout the design process. From using analytics to view current behavior to getting out and talking/ testing with users, I am always reminding them that the user is key to the design process.
Build A Leaning Culture
The key to a high preforming team is understanding that we all need to be learning and continuously skill building.
